THE TROUBADOUR

Hush now,
close your eyes,
we're alone on the floor,
you the fair young maiden,
and I the troubadour,
I feel your heart beating fast and hard with mine,
come lets share this ecstasy if only for a while,
but the night is fleeting ,
our time alone too brief,
it was stolen,
by the night,
like gold,
by a thief,
but when my days are over,
and the years have left me old,
I'll remember this one dance,
and smile in sweet repose.
